Also known as “sea moss” or carrageenan, it is a common, edible red seaweed. Its mucilage is extracted from the Chondrus crispus algae. It is used as a thickener, and is extremely vitamin and mineral-rich. The carrageenan polysaccharide moisturizes hair strands all the way down to the scalp, helping restore damaged hair follicles.
